sucks cos i really enjoyed curse of the moon and was excited to hear bloodstained was getting another game. unfortunately i could never get use to visuals of RotN even with the redo the artist did. but to see the game in such a state as it is, very tragic. smh

I am removing Bloodstained from my steam wishlist.

I can’t get through the ending credits without it crashing because of a software error. Anyone else dealing with this issue? It completely ruined the game for me. I can’t even unlock new game plus or any post game content.

Seeing the game potentially being left in this state makes me sad man, i remember having a lot of fun with this game some years ago

Is that bug only happening on consoles? because i'm playing it on PC and i don't have any of that mess happening it even loads faster than the previous update. The only game that given me a pain in the ass was in the last update BCOTM 2 where after killing the Drago-Symbiote boss with the help of Dominique the game automatically closes so i'm currently playing his older version where the crash doesn't happen.

Damn, I hadn't played since launch, and I was looking to get back into it now that all the secret characters and extra modes have been added. Might give it a few more months and see how it goes.

I’m sure if the devs won’t come back, some mad lad will release a fan patch, but that still doesn’t fix things for console players

Don't forget about the CTDs, too. The last time I tried playing Bloodstained, I tried the Child of Light mode, and... of course, got a random CTD like an hour in. It'd been like 10-15min since I last saved, and well.... CTDs always ruin my desire to play a game (which is why I don't play anything from Crashesda too much). And Then, let's not talk about just how unfun the crafting system is in the game where you are expected to grind tons of materials just to make a full stack of the later potions, it's just crazy bonkers how they thought that was a good idea. Either do that, or come up with several hundred thousand gold to buy potions, and it's just... eeew. Way too much grind. I don't need or want MMO-style grind in my side-scrolling Metroidvania, thanks. Whoever thought that was a great idea needs to go back and play CSOTN. I don't feel like dumping a dozen hours into farming skeletons, bats, and puke monsters for their drops and/or trying to farm that much money.

Man I saw that load time in classic the other day when I tried it for the first time revisiting the game and I was really confused, thought the game had frozen.

The load time thing is true but the shop glitch has never happened to me even once. As for losing progress, saving is usually the first thing you do when you come back to Arantville anyway. If this glitch is real, its super, SUPER rare and can be overcome by just saving whenever you come back to town. Don't try to discourage people from playing a great game they might enjoy because of something that will not ruin their experience.

I just bought this game recently and haven't played it much but planned on it soon. This is so sad to hear as I enjoyed the little I did play.

I distinctly recall during my play through of bloodstained on switch the paranoia and superstition I developed when doing anything. I would save every chance I got, make sure Miriam came to a full stop before interacting with anything, mending slowly on purpose, etc. Because just about anything would crash the game, most obviously was warping back while flipped upside down would always crash the game.

So I tested this on ps4 just now, bought and sold hundreds of item on my 100% character. no lock up. Mashed X fast and slow to test it. Then I rentered, ran to her, skipped cutscene and mashed X to quick buy potion. Instant lock up. Seems to only effect quick buys or speedrunners using sort items way too quickly. Also noticed the all items menu lags the fps on my 100% character. Its sucks but I dont menu like a speedrunner, nobody does but them. They are in the vast minority, 6 playthroughs in I still dont quick sort and buy something, I look at my cash and pick and choose like anyone but the most optimized players. A first playthrough person should realistically never encounter this. The huge lag when the item list is 100+ items long will affect more people. You can see evidence in the video, open window/sort too fast and it locks up. Jupiter climb is suffering from a skill issue, of being too skilled, but a skill issue nonetheless. Anyway IGA please fix this, add level 255 mode, and revert backdash to its DSvania self, attack speed is lame, bring cancel frame 1 cancel spam. Everyone who perfected it in CVHD doesn't get to transfer those skills to RoTN. Its been my biggest problem with RoTN since release and still is

Also, the PS4 version *still* can randomly crash when playing a cutscene. I remember having it crash on me after the train sequence and I was pretty demotivated to continue playing the game afterwards and just decided to play a different game instead.

That really sucks. Glad I Platinumed the game when it worked. This is actually really sad. Gonna like and comment for the algo. This needs to be seen by as many eyes as possible. I don't want this game to end it's life like this.

Don't know if anyone else ever encountered this, but I had a strange bug in Classic 2 that caused a defeated monster to refuse death and keep attacking me. Since it was "dead" it no longer had a hit box, so I had to just run and exit the screen. Glad it wasn't a boss...

You know when IGA/ArtPlay sucks with fixing their shit when a much smaller studio like Studio Iggymob, a South Korean game company that has very little experience with developing games for consoles and PC, are much quicker and receptive about fixing issues with Gungrave G.O.R.E and supporting it with more frequent patches than Bloodstained ever has with these extremely drawn out "updates" that only introduce more problems every year or so since its finished release in 2018.
